Our course has been created by ACT’s expert tutors to provide an informative and practical overview of wellbeing that will help you to:

  • Understand what wellbeing is and how it relates to the workplace
  • Understand the benefits of positive wellbeing
  • Identify how wellbeing can be improved in the workplace
  • Measure wellbeing performance
  • Implement positive change in your workplace

Research has shown that good wellbeing within the workplace can:

  • Reduce staff turnover
  • Reduce accidents and injuries
  • Increase employee satisfaction and engagement
  • Reduce sickness absence
  • Increase productivity

This course provides a fresh approach to wellbeing that can be applied to any role, any sector, across the world. By the end of the course, learners will be able to understand what wellbeing is and why it matters, how wellbeing can be improved in different ways, and how to intervene to improve wellbeing in the workplace.

The course is split into 3 core sections.

Foundations of Wellbeing:

  • What wellbeing means
  • Why wellbeing matters

The branches of wellbeing; benefits and what this means in practice:

  • Interaction
  • Exercise
  • Mindfulness
  • Nutrition
  • Kindness
  • Learning

Interventions in the workplace:

  • Planning interventions
  • Measuring the effectiveness of interventions

The course is assessed with a one-hour exam that has been designed to measure your understanding and ability to apply what you have learnt to your workplace.

Learners are required to review the strengths and weaknesses of their organisation in relation to each of the areas of wellbeing covered by the course.

Following this, you will then produce a wellbeing intervention plan for the workplace, and explain how it’s effectiveness will be measured when implemented.

Should your submission not meet the requirements, you will receive feedback and will be asked to re-submit, so you get the chance to put things right.

The NEBOSH Working with Wellbeing course takes approximately 7 hours of study to complete. This involves 6 hours of taught and 1 hour for the assessment.

  • When studying through classroom, in-house, or virtual classroom learning, the course is typically completed in a single day.
  • When studying through online eLearning, we recommend allocating 1 day to complete the study, but this can be split over several sessions. You have access to the course for 6 months.

This course is supported by a NEBOSH Study Guide, which covers the course syllabus and content in detail.

The guide provides the knowledge necessary to help you achieve the qualification, and includes activities and case studies that illustrate the key areas covered by the syllabus. It can be used as part of your studies during a taught course, or as a study aid for e-learning, distance learning, and revision sessions. The information is also a valuable reference source for those applying wellbeing techniques in the workplace.

The NEBOSH Study Guide is available as both a hardcopy and an e-book for all learners taking the course.

The NEBOSH one day courses are designed to give you an understanding of a single topic, such as Wellbeing. After achieving the Working with Wellbeing course, you could move on to other one day course such as the Manging Stress at Work, Environmental Awareness or the Health and Safety Leadership. They are great bitesize courses to introduce you to each topic, which could then be further specialised in the Certificate or Diploma range.
