The use of Display Screen Equipment (DSE) such as PC’s, laptops, phones and tablets has become commonplace as part of our daily work routine, and many people now have home workstations set up so that they can work remotely.
Display Screen Equipment is not without its risks, and without proper controls in place to reduce these risks, prolonged use of Display Screen Equipment can have adverse impacts on health. The use of Display Screen Equipment is associated with musculoskeletal disorders such as repetitive strain injury, carpal tunnel syndrome, backache, and other adverse health effects like eyestrain and headaches.

This short course is designed to provide workers who regularly use DSE with the information that they need in order to reduce health and safety risks that arise from the prolonged use of screens and poor ergonomics.
The course is split into small digestible parts with interaction and multimedia content. The course covers the following areas:
This course includes information, imagery, and diagrams all intended to make the subject of Display Screen Equipment use easy to understand and apply in practice within offices, home workstations and more.
The course includes a short multiple choice assessment to confirm understanding of the course materials. Learners have access to one free re-sit of the assessment if required.
Successful completion of the assessment will provide learners with a digital iAS certificate which can be saved, downloaded and printed off.
